Week Seven

Hey Jenna,
So today's class we used the stylist pad once again, and yet again at first it was SO incredibly hard to get used to, but once you reliased you weren't using the mouse any more and the stylist was now your mouse.
Today in Corel Painter we looked at cloning an image.
This was a fantastic tool. This tool allowed us to have an image and like tracing paper go over the image on a blank page letting us leaving in and take out bits of the image.
I continued to work on one of the pictures of myself outside, and i traced the image and made it looked distorted then using text which i am loving through out my pieces . I have distorted this picture and cloned it, it is a photo of myself outside and i am really liking it but i am unsure how and if it will be one of my finals.
Although corel painter is a great program i am finding using photo shop a lot easier to use just because i am more comfortable with it.
We also looked at art briefly as a moving image. This was very cool to look and fun, although i only had a quick play with it, it was fun to watch the image move. And because i am doing dance as my theme i am thinking i will need to have a moving image, i am just unsure of what i want to do.
We also watched people presentations today and i really loved Georgia's pop art piece, it was really good to see the same image move through and change, this was an image you needed to be close to, to really appeciate it.
Hope you have a great week

Week Six

Hey Jenna,
As you would of noticed i did not post a blog for last week because i was at a funeral.
But im here this week.
Today we played on Corel Painter, we used the pad and stylist today to help create art works.
It was good fun to see all the cool things that can be produced on corel painter. Although at first using the stylist instead if a mouse was very frustrating and took a lot of time to get used to it, at the moment it seems to be going my way.

During this class i sat and brain stormed what i could do with the photos i had taken over the week break of myself and others for my final pieces.
One idea that sprung to mind was to use a out door picture and edit it in a way so it way so it would look darkened or close to black and white with splashes of colour through out it. I then want to stretch it over canvas and place tule over the top, as i could not get a photo image printed onto a tutu.

I also plan to do a picture to be super imposed over another so by doing layering on photoshop.
I have a website which you gave to look at on how to do that becuase i was not here last week.
http://stunik.com/vu/2010/layermask/layermasks.html
This tutorial will help me to learn how to mask over pictures so i can have that superimposed image of the muscles working through.
Also when i go home i plan to add some of my favorite pictures i took from the day of shooting to help give you an idea of the look i am going for and the theme that is running through out my pieces which is DANCE :)

bye for now
smiles sarah
